Build Your List - and Earn Money - While on Holiday…

UPDATE: This post was originally published in December 2006… It helped so many people to get on with their listbuilding and created so many Internet Marketing successes, that I since developed a software script to automate the process.

How do you go away on holiday knowing your list is building and you’re earning money while you’re away…

After all, that’s one of the promises we’re given isn’t it, when we set up our online business? - make money in your sleep, make money while you’re on holiday…

What you must do is get your campaigns running on autopilot - so you can leave them up over the Christmas break - This is how you build your list, and your business, while you’re away from your computer…

But first, all the tools and methods I describe here will be made available to you at the end of this text, so read first and DO later…

1. Set up a squeeze page for building your list. It must contain a free gift if it is to draw the maximum signups - I’ll give you one of those if you need it, at the end.

2. Input your autoresponder signup form on the squeeze page… if you use one of mine, the place to put it is clearly marked. (This will build your list)
3. Set the autoresponder to go to a One-Time-Offer on verification of the email address (This will earn you money)
4. Promote the squeeze page to all the traffic sources you know - I’ll give you a load of free ones in a minute.
That’s it. If you follow these 4 steps you’ll go away to Christmas with a list of X and come back with X plus, plus… AND, on top of that, you’ll find you’ve earned money with One-Time-Offer purchases too!

So - here are the resources you need to put this in place. Act fast - get it done and relax:

1. Squeeze page. for simplicity, use one of the ones here:

They’re all ready to go - all you need to change is input the signup form code from your autoresponder.

2. Autoresponder. You should have one of these by now, if not - set up an account at aweber: http://www.nulltochance.com/aweber

3. Create a list called christmasbuilder (or whatever you like) and in the listSettings section, go to Verified Opt-in.
Set the confirmation Success Page to your OTO url - (see below)

3a. Set your first message in the autoresponder series with a welcome message and a pointer to the download page for your free ebook. This way everyone who joins your list gets the book, whether or not they bought your OTO.
3b. Go to ‘LEADS’ and click on the ‘web form generator’ sub menu. Create a new webform with just NAME and EMAIL.
4. Set up an account at

(as big an account as you can afford) and get the OTO links from them to use in your OTO url at Aweber. This will save you hours of work getting in products and setting up OTO pages yourself. In fact - I was able to do it in just minutes (literally)…
4a. You might also like to offer any of my products you like - and earn 50% commission on them. To get access to them, just sign in at http://www.list-jv.com/signup.php
Then, in the member area, look for available products, view the sales pages and get the affiliate links. Use one of these links as the verification url for your autoresponder and you’re done.
5. Download Bob Jenkins’ excellent Free Advertising Report:

… and use as many of his suggested advertising methods as you can to promote your squeeze page over the Christmas Break.

6. Congratulate yourself - you’ve just set yourself up to build your list, AND earn money while you’re away…

Now you may like to repeat the process, with a different cover of 20 Secrets, and a different OTO product - the more squeeze pages you’re promoting, the more your list will grow, after all. Plus, with 2 or three of them out there, you could be collecting some valuable testing data on which cover does best, or which product sells best, etc.

Either way - once you’re set up with this (however many of them you do) you can now disappear and forget about it knowing your promotions are driving traffic, your squeeze page is building your list, and your OTO page is earning you money…
