Useful Tools…

I’ve been asked so many times “what do you use for this?”, or “how to I make that happen…?” I’ve decided the best way is to give you a table of all the tools and software I use, together with the price I paid for it.

I don’t profess to think I know the best tool for every job. I think a lot of personal taste should come into the choice of which you use. However, if you don’t have anything currently, to perform a task you need done, then you may find it listed below.

There is also a good list of open source software available for free download for all manner of tasks here.

Oh – and by all mean, please comment below if you have something to add in a particular category. Just remember, this is a help blog, not an advertising blog – this isn’t an excuse for you to splash your affiliate links everywhere… :) – But I will allow it if you have something relevant, and particularly useful…

I hope you’ll find it helpful.

I’m sure I haven’t included everything here, so I’ll be adding to it as time goes by, but for now – this is what it looks like…

Howdy Tim! You sure do have a very good selection of software. My problem is I am just starting to work on the internet and finding it very over-whelming.

    I just created a blog on http://itisup2me.blogspot.com
It started out to be related to Health but then I added some other information that isn’t related.

My main goal is to have people listem to an 8 minute message 1.212.990.7002 or listen to the recorded audio’s on the ashnow website or listen to the weekly calls > Wed. 9pm, Sat. 1pm, Eastern, 1.212.990.8000 pin 3024#

If you would like to learn about some Nobel Scientists and how to let our body heal itself, please visit ashnow, or listen to a weekly call.

    Thanks for all your expertise!

Have a great holiday season and prosperour NEW YEAR!

    Hi Tim,
This is very impressive and to me, this is what no one has ever revealed before. Everyone tell you advertise this URL without any direction.
This is just wonderful and I cannot say enough about this blog. We now have a direction to follow. The details you have included makes this one of the best and this seperates you as one of my best mentors.
    To Your Success
    Happy Holidays

    Tim,

I am curious about Clickbank Elite. Is it really worth $47. Do you do that much CB marketing?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

PS. Thanks for the helpful list.

Hi Tim, I know how busy you are so I just wanted to thank you again. And, if any of your subscribers need help with their advertising, I offer it at no charge.
As you can tell from my ranking at Tim’s Viral Spiral, I manage to stay at the top or near it, so if I can be of help, just let me know.

I can’t wait to see what the prize is that you have in mind for the top 5 finishers! Knowing you, I think I can say without fear of contradiction that it’ll be super!

Thanks again for all your help.

    Hi Tim,
Excellent post! It’s very interesting to see what software successful IM’ers use. It’s one thing to get emails with recommendations which are actaully hidden affiliate links as you know that the objective is to sell you the recommendation. However to see a real list of useful siftware that is actually being used is great. So many thanks for that.

Hi Tim, Wow, I really love your web layout, very professionaly done, easy to read and find what you need…Id like to offer you and your readers a free tool that is soooooo very usefull in organizing all your traffic exchanges and affiliate sites along with your hosting companys and main monitizing sites like clickbank paypal etc. before getting this free tool I was using notepad to try and keep up with all my affiliate organizations and was lost on all my traffic exchanges, constantly searching for the url and my salespage url…this device solved all my problems in that area, it is add infected, but doesent get in the way of its usefullness. Whilst I think Open Office is great (I recommend it to many clients – I do IT support for a living) it’s a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut if all you want to do is create PDFs. PDFCreator is also Open Source & free:

    http://www.pdfforge.org/products/pdfcreator/download

When installed in Windows, you get a “PDF printer” so you can use whatever tool you want to create your document, including MS Word, and just “print” to the “PDF creator printer” – just click the print button, select the PDF printer from the drop down list & away you go. You may want to read through the long list of options the first one or two times you use it but you can ignore 95% of them for most purposes.

If you’re running several websites, kimsufi.com do a whole server (real, not virtual) for around £20/month. If you let the system do the default install of Ubuntu Linux, then install Webmin, then, using Webmin, install ISPConfig (all free) setting up domains, websites, email etc is very easy. Some tech knowledge is definitely required but you can run dozens of fairly large websites on the lowest-end server. £1/month extra gets you an extra IP address so you can run HTTPS for a site if you need to. If anyone wants this set up & doesn’t feel they can do it themselves, I’ll do it for you – fee negotiable as I only just thought of this. You can also run video & audio streaming from one of these servers but I believe that involves extra bandwidth charges. I also run Squirrelmail which is a full-service webmail server, vastly better than Outlook Web Access. Ohm, and there is plenty of good free autoresponder software you can run on such a server – and you don’t have to pay anyone an extra monthly fee :)

I could go on but I’ve written far too much already… :)
