Hi Tim

Meriden may or may not be the centre of England (or is that England and Wales?) but it was certainly the place to be that weekend.

Even our car expiring on route didn't spoil what was a genuine breakthrough weekend for us, as for many others.

If your next event in November is half as good and the networking goes half as well, it will be a brilliant place to be.

And no, I'm not on commission!

Just get there and network, people, if you possibly can.

All the best, Tim

The geographic centre of England is in a paddock at Lindley Hall Farm, owned by Charles and Margaret Farmer.
However many English people still believe the country's centre is in Meriden, 11 miles (18 kilometres) away.
link to the centre

If you'll allow a "colonist" to give his perspective - Columbus sailed this way a little over 500 years ago, so I figured his navigational aides must have been available in England.
So this simple mind figured "think inside the box" of 500 years ago. Did they have maps? (Assuming a known North direction and the farthest points N, E, S and W. Draw a rectangle, then draw the diagonals and, voila the point of intersection is the geographical center of England. Now, this may not be how they did it then, but, just remember, this is a colonist doing this off the top of his head at 8:00 AM. AND, ... although we may have made remarkable progress in some areas, cartography in the schools is not one.
Other areas may come to your mind. How about choosing presidents? Feel free to add others ;-)
